Urban Ministries is a community-focused ministry designed to address the spiritual, social, and economic challenges in urban areas. The NCC Urban Ministries Department provides resources and support to our Churches, Schools, and Other Ministries located in our Urban areas.

a. Concentration of >200K in an area

Stockton, Sacramento, Oakland, Fremont, Hayward, Berkeley, Richmond, Vallejo, East Bay (Antioch, Pittsburg, Concord, Berkeley, Vallejo)

b. >50K

Chico, Redding, Eureka area (Fortuna, McKinleyville, Arcata-college), Santa Rosa, Fairfield, Livermore, Manteca, Tracy, Roseville, Vacaville

  • High population density
  • Diverse demographics
  • Economic disparities
  • Limited access to resources or services

The Purpose of Urban Ministries

Serving immediate needs while fostering long-term transformation leading to the following:

  • Spiritual renewal to foster meaningful connections,
  • Social justice to uplift the marginalized,
  • Community development to revitalize neighborhoods,
  • Education and empowerment to inspire lifelong growth,
  • Holistic initiatives to prioritize health and well-being
  • Celebrating diversity through unity
  • Transformational relationships to restore broken lives through reconciliation and authentic community.

By addressing urban needs, Urban Ministries plays a vital role in improving the quality of life for individuals and fostering healthier, more resilient communities by:

  • Providing Scholarships for College Students
  • Contributing funds to Urban Churches to help with the following:
  • Meeting the needs of the homeless
  • Offering Counseling Services
  • Partnering with City Officials to help meet the needs of the community
  • Providing Free Breakfast
  • Partnering with NCC Health services offering Free Dental and Vision Clinics
